What? No Bank Holiday Monday?

Spoiled.

The last two weeks in a row have been three day weekends. Not so this time around. That means a long five days ahead.

Speaking of long days, today didn’t exactly fly by.

I went out with the aim of doing a typical Sunday morning fairly easy ride. But I couldn’t work out whether it was due to yesterday’s ride, or riding three outdoor hour+ rides in a row, but I felt tired.

Like, lacking energy.

Fatigued.

Fortunately tomorrow is a rest day. I feel like I need it.

Beyond that, there really wasn’t a whole right lot going on this morning. I struggled to think of a route, but in the end just pottered around the countryside before I thought hey, why not head down to the bike shop at the train station and see if it’s open?

If it was open, I was then going to go down later in the afternoon with my eldest and pick her out a bike for her birthday. Alas, it was not open. And on the way home I spotted that Evans Cycles is once more listed as having a closing down sale.

Not exactly a strong front for the Preston bike scene. But then cycling round Preston, avoiding the dead rats (yes, plural today), I do feel like the town is … stagnating? It’s certainly not got a growth or upward trajectory vibe about the place.

I remember a lad I used to work with called it De-Preston. And I think that is a pretty good description of how miserable it feels around here lately. Not for me, just generally. The outlook doesn’t seem positive.

On that happy note, I’ll call it a day.

Next up will be Tuesday’s regular indoor racing day. I wonder what’s in store? At least I will have a shiny and freshly cleaned bike to sweat all over.
