Today’s ride was a bit easier, lasting 50 minutes and burning 439 calories. This was a bit lighter compared to yesterday’s ride, which lasted 52 minutes and burned 518 calories.
I had planned for a more relaxed session, but I ended up needing to work throughout. I brought my laptop onto the bike and set it up on the desk, which helped pass the time. However, this setup limited how hard I could push, as everything got quite sweaty, making it tricky to work with the computer while riding.
Today, I chose a route called the Culture Ride on the Alula map, which covers around 17.8 kilometres. I’m not entirely sure about the elevation, but it didn’t matter much since, as usual, I had the trainer intensity set to 0%. My plan was just to complete a lap, which I managed to do—and even a bit extra—so that felt quite positive.
It was one of those sessions where I found myself drifting between riding and working. I looked up about 20 minutes in, got some work done, then checked again at the 40-minute mark. A knock from the postman briefly interrupted things, which put a little pause in the ride. After getting back on the bike, I wondered if I’d be able to regain my rhythm, but since the ride wasn’t overly intense, it was easy enough to pick up where I left off. I completed the session at around 50 minutes, though I probably lost a couple of minutes answering the door.
I’m looking forward to a rest day before Saturday’s session.
