It’s been hard work adjusting to the new routine – shorter lunch breaks, shorter rides, busier days.
One thing I’m finding is that when riding now, I have the work laptop open, and I can see message (after message, after message) arriving on Slack as I ride. All queued up and waiting for my perusal when returning from lunch.
And that prays on my mind as I ride. Really spoils the vibe. The smart thing to do would be to shut the lid. Maybe I will start doing that.
Beyond that, a simple steady state ride today. Nothing major, nothing really to report. The only bummer is I have somehow ended up with a bad back – think I’ve either been sat funny at the desk, or am suffering from old age.
Anyway, rest day tomorrow – can’t say I feel like I’ve had to earn it – before hopefully doing something a touch longer come Saturday.
