An outdoor ride today, and a cold one, too. Sadly, not photos due to me still having no working camera on my phone. That said, there was only one photo I would have taken today, and that was of a stream, so I don’t feel like you missed too much.
Though I didn’t realise it en-route, it looks as though I had continued trouble with me Wahoo Tickr 2 today, proving it’s not just some indoor connectivity or interference issue. Shame.
What I can say is that my new gloves:
Did not perform that well.
My fingers were cold. And I do mean cold. Yes, they were protected from the wind, but no, they did not stay warm.
I would say they were only marginally warmer than when I’d worn fingerless gloves outdoors a few rides back.
It took about 30 minutes for my hands to get so cold / numb that the cold kinda stopped bothering me. Not sure how I’d fix that honestly. My wife’s gloves that I have been borrowing have definitely done a better job.
Today was, by and large, a potter about, do whatever I felt like it ride. I had no route, and that was deliberate in order to give me options in order to avoid snow and ice. I only found one mega icy bit, and whilst very sketchy, I managed it without a tumble. Thankfully no pedestrians to foil me today.
All being well, I am going to head outdoors again tomorrow. Ideally early morning. Not sure of the route. Maybe an A-Road slog, give myself a bit of a time trial. It really depends. There’s a Stage 4 TdZ 2021 route I could do, if the weather is bad. Nice to have some options.
Aside from that, I’m just glad to be indoors. In the warm.
