Indoor Cycling – Weekly Review July 22nd – July 28th 2019

Each week Zwift sends me an email summarising my activity for the week. For previous weekly reviews click here.

Wrong sir, wrong!

Last week Zwift didn’t bother sending me their weekly summary email.

This week they sent it, and it’s all wrong.

Training Peaks give a true representation of this weeks effort.

This week wasn’t great in terms of distance. However, two of the four rides were up the Alpe Du Zwift to break the back of the L’Etape Du Tour climbing mission.

No regrets here. I managed to complete that goal, and as I’ve covered previously, not every kilometer is equal. 1km up hill is considerably more effort than 1km down hill.

I had planned to attend a century group ride on Sunday morning at 9:15. In the end I didn’t take part. Instead, we had a family trip to Lego land at the Trafford Center. Again, no regrets.

The best workout of the week came in the form of the Off The MAAP tour ride. I’d have liked to have done more of these, as this was a fun event. However, the compact schedule – 4 rides over two weeks, mostly starting at 7pm or early mornings – were no good for me. I appreciate these rides were aimed at Aussies predominantly, so no big issue there.

I’m thinking any week where I’m at, over, or around 2000 calories burned is a good week on the bike. I’m happy with my weight – have been since the start of this journey – so really it’s all about fitness.

The plan for this week is to continue with the FTP Builder program. That will be today’s ride for sure.

Aside from that, no major plans at the moment. Hopefully hit another race at some point this week but nothing in the calendar just yet.

Overall a steady week with nothing major to report.
