Each week Zwift sends me an email summarising my activity for the week. For previous weekly reviews click here.
Overall it’s been a good week. I got my tech issues sorted. I got a new PC (finally) so riding is now lovely and smooth at 1080p with ultra graphics.
I got my shoes and pedals sorted. As ever with new shoes they will required a bit of wearing in, but immediately the clippy pedals are miles better than the regular pedals with straps I was using. I’m glad I learned how to use clippy pedals on a smart trainer, as the first time I clipped in, I had to google how to get off. That would have been fun outdoors.
Overall cycling performance was nothing too stellar this week. I only managed to take 1 rest day, which – judging by the performance graph above – was perhaps a bad choice.
Thursday’s ride up Box Hill was probably my favourite ride of the week. Friday’s ride was a frustrating mix of technical problems with ANT+. And Leith Hill was a bit of a mess.
I did enjoy the Tour of Watopia Stage 6 event, but my performance was somewhat lacking. The upcoming Stage 7 ride up the Alpe Du Zwift looks really challenging, so this week will be conservative.
I met all my goals for the week in terms of riding. These being ride for 3 hours or more, and ride 100km or more.
In hindsight, having two rest days per week seems like a good shout. I’ve had one today, and may have one tomorrow as well. I think I will also have a rest day on Saturday this week, ahead of “the big one”.
Aside from all this, nothing too exciting this last week, just slow and steady.
