Nothing Ride

Not a whole lot to write home about today. For my ride, at least. Just a quick jolly out, easy pace, in significantly cooler weather than earlier this week.

However, the real fun for my cycling today came in the form of Stage 18 of the Tour de France. That battle between Pogacar and Vingegaard that has been so close over the last few days, every time Pogacar went for it, Vingegaard was on his wheel. Amazing stuff. Making mountains look flat. Really really exciting watching, and I’m so lucky that I’ve been off work and able to watch it live, and for long chunks at a time. Looks like it’s all sown up now, unless something highly unlikely happens tomorrow.

So yeah, my riding was considerably less impressive.

Whether I go out again tomorrow, I don’t know. I’m already over 100km on the week, and have done my 3 week day rides. I kinda feel like I might though… but resting is important. Watching the pros makes me want to head out and find climbs of my own. The problem with that is that I’ve done most of them round here. What I really ought to do is get a bike rack and travel further afield. That seems to be the logical next step.

Anyway, enough from me. Only a short one today in many regards.
