Well, so much for a light ride. Today was supposed to be a fairly easy one at around 200w average. But due to time constraints with a family party, kiddy swimming, and work all morning (the order of those three was back to front), I found I only had about an hour (including time to change and shower) for my afternoon cycle.
Picking a 20km route I know, have done before, and am happy is nice and flat, off out I went. As I was expecting to take it easy, I opted for arm warmers, and my Rapha commuter jacket. But things turned out a little more intense and so I got a bit sweatier than intended.
It feels like I’ve not really done enough this week. Each ride hasn’t been anything out of the ordinary. And today was no different. Hopefully I’ll get in something a little different tomorrow. But due to more family swimming at midday I’m not expecting to have a huge amount of time to work with.
I’m thinking that with the forthcoming Zwift Academy series starting next week that a bit of structure may do me the world of good. Certainly it will give me a reason to get on Zwift more regularly. I definitely feel a new FTP test would have been a good shout before going into this one. I might adjust it down a tad.
Anyway, I’m knackered. My lottery numbers haven’t come in, so it’s on with normality which means a bath then bed. Saturday nights aren’t what they used to be.
