Well, I don’t know how I managed this one. Somehow it felt better than yesterday, but in roughly the same amount of time I’d done less distance and at a slower speed. What gives?!
Frustratingly I am still feeling tenderness in the top of my right calf. That isn’t the excuse for today’s metrics, and honestly I’m not looking for an excuse either. I’m really after the calorie burn more than anything. Oh, and hitting my weekly riding goal of 100km. That one should be fairly routine now, at ~92km on the week, we’re looking good. Heck, if you throw in all the smaller rides and walks I didn’t track, I bet I’d be left with ~4km to go.
As it was fairly cloudy today, the weather was pleasant enough. Not too many flies, not too much perspiration, just a nice bike ride.
On that front, I suspect tomorrow I will go out for an easier ride. Just a saunter round, try not to do too much on my sore leg. Ideally I should do this one indoors, but whilst it’s nice, and whilst I’m off work (tomorrow is my last day) I really don’t want to be at the PC more than I have to be.
The downside at the moment is I’ve definitely over indulged on the booze this week. I’ve gone from one bottle a week to two to five per day, for the last five days. I’m paying the price for that, for sure. Darned easy to reach for a nice cold brew when it’s warm, that’s what I say.
Anyway, enough rambling, I’m off for a bottle of fizzy water.
