I might be wrong, but I think that’s the first time I’ve done a ride where the sun is setting. Certainly if it’s not, it’s the first time in a very, very long time. Long enough that I’ve forgotten any previous such rides.
Typically I don’t ride on a Friday. But when the mood takes, it’s best to do the ride. Lord knows, there are plenty of days I do have to ride and don’t actually feel like it. Nice to be on the flip side for a change.
I was expecting the roads to be quiet tonight, but that wasn’t the case. I think it’s to do with the end of Eid or something (sorry, religion is not my forte), so lots of cars were out, way more than I anticipated.

What was most challenging was riding in my sunglasses in the low light. It seems silly given there was no sun, but when I tried taking them off I was immediately peppered with bugs, so back on they went.
On the plus side, no wind today. And I beat the rain by about 5 minutes. Absolute result.
Also, you know, a decent little workout. Nothing spectacular, but it all adds up.
