Sunny Sunday Session

Wow. The weather at the moment is absolutely glorious. I went out this morning in arm warmers and a gilet and was perhaps just a tad warm setting off. By the end of the ride I had stripped both off and was just right with the light breeze and the still rising sun. Absolutely love it.

So today was a chill out ride. I had in my head that I would go out towards Preston town (ahem, city) centre and go down the riverside at Avenum Park. Beyond that, it was just go wherever I fancied. I got a decent amount of riding in, some small hills, lots of nice flats, and quiet early morning roads. Can’t complain. Not one bit.

One thing I did notice today on my ride through town was this huge mural on the side of a pub. The road this is on is one I’ve never been down, but I just so happened to glance down there and saw it…

So why this is cool to me is that I went to primary school with the lad who painted this. He goes by the name of Moot, I believe, but I knew him as Chris Dorning.

I’m not quite sure what it’s about, truth be told, but I like it. Sort of graffiti but with class – not just a big ‘tag’, which to be honest I do also like. Anyway, pretty awesome, just a shame it’s not more prominent.

But yeah, beyond that today was fairly uneventful. Just get out, get some sun and exercise, and then head home for a brew. All missions accomplished.

Very much looking forward to a rest day – though that’s going to be a tough ask if it’s this hot again tomorrow. And yes, it’s supposed to be. Scorchio!
