Tree-mendous

Last Christmas Eve I cycled down to Winckley Square in Preston town centre and admired the tree. Somehow it felt very Christmassy to do that. Doing it 3 days after the big day? Yeah… not so much.

Still, I did it. I wanted to, and I did. Just later than planned. Bit of an anti-climax, but that’s life.

Aside from that, today I just moseyed around. Nothing special, just taking it easy and enjoying a bike ride and a bit of fresh air. It was certainly wet out there, so going fast wasn’t on the cards anyway.

In order to head outdoors I had had to switch out the back tyre for my old Specialized Espoir rubber. That’s well worn now, and aside from being a little cautious because of using a worn tyre I was also half expecting the thing to go boom.

However I’d been far more cautious with this task and the work seems to have paid off. It felt fine, and whilst I definitely tred lightly in the early kilometres of the ride, by the final 10km I had settled in and begun to trust it would last.

Aside from that, not a right lot to report today.

Tomorrow will be a bit more intensive and I’m hoping to get outdoors again. I believe it’s due to rain again so it will likely be another wet one. But so long as it’s just wet and not raining, I shall be outdoors. Otherwise it will be SST.
