Another lovely day here in the North West. And by the time my lunch break rolled around, the prospect of another ~45 minutes in my stuffy office, getting even hotter on the turbo was not overly appealing.
Had I had something ‘organised’ to do, I would have stayed indoors. But as it was, I had a clear schedule, an hour to kill, and the prospect of an ‘easy ride’ to get stuck in too.
So off I went, out on the bike.
Things went alright for the first 6km or so.
After that my right shoulder started to ache. And it just got worse. And worse. I should have come home, I really should. I regret that now.
The problem is, I really want to stay out and get the exercise in. The weather’s lovely. The fresh air does me good. But riding outdoors just hurts at the moment, and I’m not sure when or if that’s going to change. It’s like a hang over after drinking – it lasts longer than the event by some considerable margin.
I’ve said recently I do have a plan to rest it next week. A proper rest. But will that change anything?
I hope so, but I’m really not convinced it’s going too. I think I need to get it checked. I don’t think it’s my bike as not only have I had the bike for ~3 years without changing anything, but it doesn’t do it indoors. So it’s the shocks and bumps outdoors that is triggering it, almost certainly.
Sigh.
Shame really, as for once I had a ride without incidents.
Booo.
BOOO.
