Active Recover-knee

The long and short of it is yesterday I did a structured workout that had some repeated  30 second bursts up to 205w (as best I recall), and whilst I was mid way through the second block of 6 repetitions, the delay in spin up of the turbo caused me to put a strange amount of pressure on a weak part of my right knee. I knew at the time I’d done something to make it feel unhappy – not a show stopper, but not ideal.

Today I was going to get started with Rouvy. However, I knew my knee wasn’t good even before I got on the bike. My options were to skip the day, or to ride but at a very light recovery pace (115w). I opted for the recovery ride, partly due to boredom (tier 4 lock down combined with snow doesn’t leave many things to do), and partly due to curiosity as to how my knee would fare under the load.

In hindsight I probably should have rested it. I’m not convinced even a light ride was a sensible idea.

If this pain continues it’ll be a rest day tomorrow. Whilst only minor, I don’t want to risk making things worse. Once back to “normal” my next planned ride is to be on Rouvy. How groovy.
