Not a bad ride today, all things considered. What I want now is a Go Pro, front and rear, so I can at least have my relatives sue the bejesus out of whichever ****wit motorist runs me over. But they cost quite a lot, so I’m going to have to do a bit of saving up.
Anyway, with the thoughts of being run over fresh in my mind, I decided I’d stick to the country lanes – and none of the blind bends, either. Just the nice, wide open country lanes I know around here. And given it was dinner time, it was pretty quiet all the same.
Now, it was a lovely sunny day today. The 10 day forecast said it was supposed to be, and it has indeed been a hot one. So that’s nice.
I left my ride a little too late, ideally it would have been better to leave at 12:00, rather than 12:43 when I finally did get out of the house. It all mattered as I needed to be back for a 2pm meeting, and so was pushed for time.
That did, however, mean I had to push a little harder than I might otherwise have. So that’s no bad thing. Why it was frustrating was that I felt like I was just getting into a good place – physically – as I was on the homeward leg. If I could have stayed out longer I feel I could have got a really strong twenty minutes in around that point.
By and large then a decent day. Hopefully I’ll get out again tomorrow – if the weather is anything like today then ideally I will get out around 12 for a solid hour. Not too sure where that will take me, but I’m sure I can find my way to somewhere.
