If You Can’t Walk, Ride

Feet still not right. Not right enough to walk on for any distance, anyway.

Probably my walking boots are too big. I figure they must be the wrong size if they have done this much damage.

Even cycling in my outdoor shoes causes horrible rubbing on the remaining blisters. Wild.

But faced with either staying in or going out for a ride today, I chose a ride.

It sounds a bit weird saying that.

It’s not that I don’t want to ride, it’s just that yesterday I did a big one, and honestly I’m less fussed about outdoor rides lately. The roads are dangerous, and I had a couple of minor incidents today. It’s just not worth the risk.

As such I largely stayed to side streets and the Guild Wheel today – which is a shared bike / footpath that meanders around Preston.

All I wanted to do today was get some fresh air. Wasn’t aiming on doing anything intensive, and the stats show I pretty much nailed that.

The only other thing of note today was that I have been mostly doing my Zwifting at 30% Trainer Difficulty as of late. This is to help even out the racing as much as possible.

I was wondering how this might impact any outdoor rides.

Happy to say: not at all.

In fact I didn’t even realise the difference until I got back and remembered. So yeah. Bit of an uneventful day all round. On the bike, at least.

For now though, off out to get food for Mother’s Day.
