The wind is picking back up, and whilst the temperature remains fairly high here, it feels like a storm is coming.
I’ve been away for a couple of days down in Birmingham where the temperatures were 29c, dropping to 24c in the evening. Thankfully, it’s cooler here. 20c apparently for this ride, and with the wind it didn’t feel too bad. At times a little chilly, even.
That said, I still had a sweat on, and the flies were out in force. Who doesn’t enjoy a mouthful of gnats when giving it the beans?
I had a route in mind when heading out for this one, and that meant about 20-25 minutes of harder effort, before knocking it down to a zone 2 pace for the second half of the ride. I was going for 30km or so, but only had an hour so given the pace I knew I’d come short.
Overall not a bad ride. I feel really lacking at the moment in terms of power output. It’s a big come down from where I was a few weeks ago, where I’d never felt better. And there’s going to be another break shortly, too.
Ahh well, I guess I can ramp it up into the winter 😀
