Ahh, the easy life.
In a bid to satisfy the Garmin’s incessent nagging I opted to ride this evening, but at a vastly relaxed pace.
I have this bad omen in mind though that I’m about to get run over. And killed. That’s the really bad bit. I think it’s due to reading the ‘top’ threads on Reddit’s /r/cycling and a sizable chunk of them are horror stories about lost loved ones.
So that’s not good.
I could stay inside. And perhaps I should. But my need for fresh air is outweighing the common sense aspect of not being run over.
On a less downbeat topic, I used my knowledge of overheating yesterday in my long sleeves to go out again in long sleeves today (very similar weather), and use the concept of being too hot as a sign that I ought to slow down.
For once I actually stuck to my guns and didn’t go too hard pretty much anywhere. That even included some mini climbs, which for the first time ever saw me in the little ring and crawling up at a pace I genuinely think I could have beaten on foot.
Overall though, I enjoyed this one.
Occassionally it’s nice to just chill the heck out.
And extra bonza bonus, I got home and my wife said to me (totally unrelated): you do know it’s Bank Holiday this weekend, don’t you?
Heck no, I did not. But I swear after 9 weeks off work I wouldn’t think I’d need a holiday quite so soon, but I’m bushed. Mentally, if nothing else.
Rock on. Just another day for riding 😀
Yes, I have those same omens. According to the eminent prof of statistics David Spiegelhalter you have a 1 in a million chance of being killed on the bike every 30 miles. On a motorbike every 5 miles. In a car every 300 miles. Just spreading some love tonight. You’re welcome! c. 15:29 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjTMgA2ENBY On the plus side positive news on bacon rolls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4szyEbU94ig
😂😂 that did make me laugh.
Well… that’s less than 1 in a million chance per ride on average then. Every cloud.
