I had everything planned out last night. I was all set to do the Trough of Bowland this morning. It was scheduled to be, and has turned out to be, a really hot one today. As such I had planned to get out at ~9.30, giving me all morning to ride the ~75km route and be back home before things got overly hot.
However, when I woke up this morning I was kindly reminded that today was my eldest’s school sport’s day from 10-12, so that basically nullified any long distance effort. Even so, I wanted to get my ride in early, before it got too hot later in the day. There are some advantages to being an unemployed layabout, it seems.

So really this ride was a bit … meh. I didn’t have any sort of route in mind, I just set out with the aim of doing whatever I could in the time I had. Bit of a shame really, but even so I was glad to be able to get to watch my eldest nipper do her thing.
Anyway, really not much more to it than that today. Been a slow day overall, so who knows what tomorrow will bring? The weather is due to be even hotter, so whether it’s a good idea to do the Trough with that in mind, I have no idea.
