Something of a typical ‘me’ ride today. Out and back again with a hill approximately half way there. The first half of the ride being mostly up – even if only 1-2%, and then the second half being the opposite.
As this was a ride up to Longridge, there are a couple of small but fairly steep little climbs to enjoy, and on a lovely summer’s evening I certainly did enjoy them.
Now, this is a largely contradictory to yesterday’s weekly review whereby I said I would aim to stay indoors this week and try and give my knee a bit of a rest. Well, when I’d had a long day in front of the PC, in a hot and stuffy room, the last thing I wanted was a sweaty hour on the turbo staring at the screen for even longer.
Bit silly really as my knee is definitely still hurting, and this ride did it no favours.
Hopefully I’ve not done too much more damage, and that tomorrow it feels like it has improved despite the avoidable strain.
All that said, I enjoyed this one. It was nice to get out in the sun, nice to blow off some steam after a long day in the office, and nice to get back into one of those hour long / 30km efforts I was doing on the regular prior to illness.
More of the same, please.
