VLOG #6 – Bilsborrow to Inskip

This gloriously sunny bank holiday Monday afternoon enticed me outdoors for the second day in a row. With temperatures over 20c and low wind (compared to yesterday, anyway) this was very much the fair weather cyclists ideal outdoor ride.

My planned route took me out to a pub I used to frequent and then left, as I’ve always wondered what lay beyond.

It turns out what lies beyond is largely pot holed country lanes, with some lovely barn conversions and that sort of thing.

Unlike yesterday’s ride, this one allowed me to remain predominantly clipped in. Very few traffic lights or even road junctions. It got me to thinking I could do a few intervals. So I switched to doing 5 minutes at a hard pace, followed by 5 at an easier pace. Give or take, anyway. It was all quite loose form.

Ultimately I enjoyed large parts of this ride but at the moment I feel like I’m missing something, somewhere, somehow.

Maybe it’s frustration regarding the job situation. Or some other external factor. But I can’t seem to shake that feeling of unfulfillment at the end of my rides at the moment.

Still, it’s better than being sat on the sofa.
