Preston Docks

Bit disappointed on this one. I had made a few videos of this ride in order to make a short VLOG, but the first one ended up without sound, and the second ones kinda built on from there. Sucks.

Ahh well, the gist of it was that it was super windy. Perhaps too windy. In short it took me 2 hours to do what I could likely have done in less than one on Zwift. Efficiency out of the window.

I was happy enough with my weekly riding ahead of this one, so wasn’t out to set any new personal bests or anything like that. And with Strava’s recent changes, it’s hard to check any leaderboards or anything, anyway. Sad times.

I’m reluctant to cough up for Strava as I haven’t found it particularly useful beyond the leaderboards, and they certainly aren’t worth £4.99 a month, or whatever amount they are now charging.

Not to me, anyway.

Really disappointed my video didn’t work out the way I wanted it too.

In the end though, this ride was a bit of a fail. I’m likely gunna bin this route off for any future rides. It was kinda fun hitting Preston city center early doors on a Sunday morning, but beyond that it wasn’t a particularly useful ride from a fitness perspective. Too much stop / start.

That said, it was a refreshing change to the Zwift monotony.

I’m thinking I might finish out the Tour for All and then ditch my Zwift membership for a month, and try a different program instead. Open to any recommendations. And there’s always RGT cycling to keep me going in the interim.
