Each week I try to review and reflect on my previous week on the bike. This allows me to see how my fitness and ability is progressing on a wider timescale than day to day. For previous weekly reviews please click here.
A busy week both on and off the bike. It was hard to get in hour long rides during the weekdays without resorting to riding in the early evening, which I am not a massive fan of.
However, what short rides I did during the week I more than made up for at the weekend. Saturday’s ride in particular was a bit of a beast. And there’s more of that to come in the week ahead.
Here are this week’s rides:
- Tuesday – Zwift Race London: Stage 2 – London Loop (B) (Indoors / Zwift)
- Wednesday – Tour of Watopia 2023 | Stage 2 | Short (Indoors / Zwift)
- Thursday – Not The Right Ride (Indoors / Zwift)
- Saturday – Tour of Watopia 2023 | Stage 2 | Longer (Indoors / Zwift)
- Sunday – If You Can’t Walk, Ride (Outdoors)
Overall then, very happy with the week.
Racing.
Two group rides: the Short and Longer versions of Tour of Watopia 2023 Stage 2.
And an outdoor ride, to boot.
I’m actually expecting something pretty similar for this week, too. We have Stage 3 for both Race London and the Tour of Watopia 2023 in store. I’m not sure what the Stage 3 race involves, but the Tour ride is an absolute beast this week. It’s Titan’s Grove Reverse KOM, then Epic KOM (minus the Radio Tower), and then the Alpe du Zwift.
Pretty insane. I’d have to say that’s going to be one of, if not the hardest ride I will have ever done. At least on paper.
I will definitely be doing the Race and then the Shorter ride during the weekdays to make sure all the boxes are ticked. Then Saturday afternoon is the target time for the Stage 3 Longer Ride. Maybe Sunday morning…
Weight is a bit all over.
Still not comfortable dropping it back down into the 66s as I’m fluctuating between the two. There’s not a whole lot in it, although I might regret saying that after Stage 3.
Not really doing anything specific here. Just eating as normal. No concerns.
The only challenge this week has been to get rides in during my lunch breaks.
Hopefully as I settle into this new role, my days become a little more predictable. As above, I still expect to be a bit up and down this week, so anything between 30-45 minutes at lunch is a win in my book. Also with the big Stage 3 ride ahead, I’m kinda going easy on myself anyway.
Overall then, happy enough. Looking for more of the same from the week ahead.
