I have to say I really didn’t think this whole Advent of Cycling thing through. Doing a ride every day, for 19 days now, has been absolutely bloody knackering. I know I finish on Thursday night, and I know I’ve said it already, but it really can’t come soon enough. The finish line is in sight, but boy do I feel a long way off it at the moment.
One fortunate thing that’s come late in the day are these new routes.
Today I decided to try out the Beach Island Loop. This is about as close as I’ve come to a hot and sunny beach this year. Not that this is as far as I’ve come to any beach this year, however. Wow, does that seem like a long time ago.
I wanted a paced ride today, and so off I set with my custom workout of 20 minutes at 185w, which at 3w/kg uis the low part of my tempo range.
Wondering if I would see any new sights today, I kept my screenshot button handy throughout.
Alas, no.
This route has no new roads. At least, none that I saw. I have to say at some points I did zone out a bit. Yes, I am extremely tired. I had a terrible nights sleep last night – disturbing dreams ahoy.
This does tick off two of the four new routes.
I think, all being well, I am going to hit up one of the new Jungle Circuit routes tomorrow. Jungle Circuit being my least favourite route, I shall endeavour to make it a tad more palatable by way of a structured workout. If I’m going to cycle through soup, I don’t want to feel it.
And that’s about it for today.
A real Tier 4 lockdown of a ride. Thanks Boris.
