I’ll start with a few corrections from yesterday 🙂
Firstly, my best sprint time was in the 16s range, not the 14s range. Ha.
And secondly, I definitely did not complete two full circuits.
How do I know this?
Because this morning I got to ride the London Classique again. And this time I definitely did complete two full circuits.
I also got to race / sprint against yesterdays personal best. I managed a solid 85th overall, very quickly dropping to 87th with a 15.89 (I think! still not sure how to validate this, so using my rock solid questionable memory skills). Faster than yesterday, but not by much.
Still, I’ll take it.
The highlights for me this morning are:
- Turning up 7 days in a row
- Completing two full circuits of London Classique
- Riding for longer than 20 minutes
- Riding over 10km two days in a row
- Riding without stopping pedalling for the full distance
- Higher average cadence than yesterday
There were likely other achievements today. I forgot to put a towel over my bars, so for the full 20+ minutes I was sweating all over my bike. That took my mind off my two kids watching me as they ate their breakfast and asked me many questions, most of which were met with huffs and puffs.
When I told my eldest yesterday that I’d been riding around London, I was asked if I’d seen a whole raft of landmarks. To every single one, I answered: no.
As it happens today, I did see some landmarks. I saw Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, and The Mall. I might have seen more, but my knowledge of London is roughly equivalent to my knowledge of road bikes – almost non existent.
Having been riding and using Zwift and Strava now for the past week, there’s various graphs and metrics I’d love to gain access too. I’m going to try and find out how to do this so my future blog posts might have a few more images.
All in all, I’m feeling really good and really enjoying Zwift. I have just 3km left on my free trial now, so will need to fully sign up today, in order to ride tomorrow.
Catch you all tomorrow!
