Four Tens Are Forty

As it rained all morning, and heavily too, by the time I’d finished my mornings computer work (busy adding a site search facility to bikeclimbs.com) the roads outdoors didn’t look dry enough to head outdoors without getting filthy. And anyway, I would probably overdo it outdoors, so decided an hour on the turbo, doing an Active Recovery session would be a good use of my time.

Interestingly, from the heart rate graph on this one, you can see I started much higher than I finished.

Typically I would expect this to be the other way round. Or, on a ride like this, fairly flat throughout.

However, today I spent the first twenty minutes playing Pokemon online card game, and as the battle lasted longer than expected, and as I had to sit up rather than lean forwards, I put all the blame solely on that. Oh, and I lost too. Disappointing.

Aside from that, there really wasn’t much to report from this one.

I spent most of the ride zoned out watching YouTube (after losing the Pokemon battle), and then – somehow – it turned out to be 4.30pm as I was finishing up. I don’t know why, but I thought it was much earlier in the day. I’d really lost track of time. Quite the achievement on a ride this dull.

As best I understand it, the weather is now due to hold until midday tomorrow.

My plan is to get out on the bike tomorrow morning, all being well. I do still have some other things I need to do tomorrow morning, so not sure how feasible this is. All I know is the rain is forecast for midday.

I don’t have a route planned yet, either.

Still, another ~30km in the books on the week. Not sure about that 494m of climb though. I did ~350m yesterday and let me tell you, it was a lot harder than this ride. Zwift is a bit of nonsense sometimes.
