Ahead of tomorrow’s ride – stage two of Tour of Watopia – I wanted to do 25km this morning to get my legs in the right mood.
The ride was largely uneventful. I noticed most people seemed to be doing a structured workout. Fair play. I did a free ride.
That Alpe is so ridiculous. Stage 7 of the tour is to climb that. It’s 10x bigger than my single best ever climb. I do not feel ready.
It’s really cool how, like in GTA, if you can see something, you can ride to it on Zwift. Sure you follow the roads – no need to steer – but it is a lot of fun to explore, even on rails.
I’ve now done 400km distance on Zwift.
This also meant my weekly distance goal of 75km is already achieved. Probably need to up that to at least 85km for next week.
I did two sprints. Today, the second was worst than the first. Oh well. I stood up on both, gave it a solid effort by my own standards.
Whilst I couldn’t beat my sprint, I did manage to run 20km in under 40 minutes. This is an interesting one. A challenge I’ve had with myself for a while was to ride 10km in 20 minutes or under. The second 10km in a single session should therefore be faster (already warmed up), reassuring then that it was.
That pace can definitely be improved on.
My cadence for this ride was all over. I’m sure that will improve with time.
My overall time for 25km was 48m 5s. With no previous reference at that time point, I don’t know if that was as good as my previous longest ride.
Stats are going in the right direction.
Got a “Nice” from the TSS man. And earned 1.5 slices of pizza, which will come in very handy tonight.
Cadence didn’t track for some reason, yet it’s available inside Strava. Weird.
See you on the tour.
