Spin Away The Stiffness

Got to say, I started today super stiff. Having had a rest day yesterday, combined with what was supposed to be easier rides over the weekend, I was surprised at how tense my legs felt for the first ten minutes, even at the gentle 115w warm up.

Fortunately this seemed to slip away once I was into the main set, and today’s workout wasn’t intensive by any means, anyway.

I had visions of doing an SST session today. Perhaps if I had done my ride at dinner time, this might have taken place. But by 16:30, having (voluntarily) been on my feet all day (standing desk, absolute win) I just didn’t have it in me. Instead, I opted for a standard FTP Builder ride, week 6 day 1, which I have done several times before.

Basically alternating blocks of 10 minutes at 155w, with 2 minute rest blocks between at 115w. A nice and gentle start to the week.

Tomorrow, all being well, I shall get RGT Cycling fired up. This should be fine as a free ride – aiming for 30km approx. I’m going to try and see how their workouts work, also. It’s ages since I’ve used RGT, so no doubt there will be a few teething problems.

After that, I would still like to get in an SST session, so maybe Thursday would be a fine day for that.

So far, so good, anyway. It would have been easy to skip today, but once I got underway, the time soon ticked down. And now it’s done I’m more than glad I’ve done it. Story of my cycling life, to be fair.
