The cold hard truth is:
Tonight was supposed to be about riding Amsterdam city ride on Tacx Software.
Alas, it wasn’t to be.

Being honest, I think I’m jinxed when it comes to that Tacx Software. Talk about problems.
Tonight’s issue was a fairly simple one:
My 7 day demo access had expired.
Can’t really moan about that as I did get a solid ride in over the weekend.
I have, somewhere, a 30 day trial key from when I bought the Tacx Neo 2. I need to dig this out and get this assigned to my account. I’ll likely do this later in the week.
Simply put – at this point I’ve spent waaay too much time on this, and the very problems that I’ve encountered along the way, to start looking round in boxes for a pass code that may or may not work, and so on, and so forth.

Instead, as I wanted a light ride anyway, I decided to hit Zwift’s FTP Builder program. Today I opted for Week 9 Day 3, which is not the next one in the series, but is the one after… if that makes sense.
The thing is, I like to make my “next ride” after a big climb as an easy ride. And whilst 50 minutes in the blue zone is easy, it is also… well, boring as hell.

There was really nothing to write home about in this one.
I aimed to keep my cadence above 90rpm throughout, which according to Strava, gave me an average of 94rpm.
I skipped both 10 minute rest blocks and just did the two 25m blocks back to back.
Burning 450+ calories on a Tuesday night is also a decent start to the week, as is putting down a slow paced 30km.

I’m almost there with the Movember kit. I think, all being well, that will be unlocked this week.
I’ve also decided to take part in Movember in the real world, which admittedly is also because I am too lazy to shave.

I got in touch with Razer technical support today regarding why the recording output from the Tacx Software is all weirdly pink.
Sadly, they had no clue, either.
They gave me a bunch of things to try. I tried a bunch of them during this ride. No dice. Still all pink.

I’m going to give it one more shot on the video ride front, and then if no luck, I’m sending all that kit back.
I noticed during this ride that my heart rate stays about 115bpm at 130w / 95rpm.

When I move about, it goes up above 120, then settles back down. You can almost see exactly when I start to get bored, and my ass starts to hurt just by looking at the red line.

Probably hit up some Sweet Spot Training tomorrow night.
I genuinely find the more intense workouts go by far quicker than this hour did. Yeesh.
