Now, there’s a post title you almost certainly will be baffled by if you’re not from the North, or perhaps, never played Worms as a kid. Or both, you know… whatever, right?
Maybe I’ve gone a little delirious after my lunch time Sweet Spot Training session. One thing today was that I’m sure my heart rate was trending higher than usual for an SST ride.
See, why the post title mentions fish and chips is that yesterday evening, my wife decided that as the chicken breasts hadn’t defrosted, we might as well nip to the chippy and get fat. So that’s what we did. And that led to me not doing my Zwift session that I had in mind. I know, right? Too easily swayed.
Going into this one though, I felt fine enough. The 5 minute warm up is nice and short, and then bang, you’re into it. It’s nothing too strenuous, but today I was definitely feeling like I was working harder than usual. Was it all to do with bad diet? Lack of sufficient quantities of sleep? Who knows.
I decided to check on some previous efforts, and yep, my average heart rate was up a good few beats during this one. As was my max heart rate. What does any of this mean? I don’t know.
Anyway, I’m glad to have got that one done and dusted, and now it’s the weekend’s rides ahead. Typically I’d like to have a rest day on Friday… just because. It’s still going to be a 3 & 2 week, but this week will be more like 2 & 3… providing I ride Saturday and Sunday, which I should. The weather’s looking typically trash, so it’s all going to be internal stuff most likely. With that in mind, maybe I can finally do what I’ve been saying for a while and get on to The Sufferfest for a change.
