It rained today. Boo. Anyway, that meant no outdoor riding. And that meant Zwift. Which I had ‘promised’ would mean an SST session. But my thighs are protesting lately. I managed to really bugger up my press ups to the point where I inexplicably hurt my right quad, so, excuses excuses, I opted for an easier, albeit highly dull ride today.
Usually I’d fit my weekday rides in on my lunch break. Not only does it build up a fine appetite, but it also gets the hard part of the day out of the way. I don’t like having the thought of an hour’s exercise hanging over me.

Being completely honest though, part of the reason I didn’t want to do my dinner time ride today was we had the carpet fitter in, and I didn’t fancy him constantly walking past, staring at me sweating in my Lycra. Little did I know he’d already made an unusual quip about me to my wife. Nothing crazy, but enough to make me glad I didn’t proceed all the same.
Beyond that, this one was routine. It was nice, in a way, to sit back and take it easy. ~2.4w/kg for an hour, give or take. It’s been a while since I’ve had an ERG endurance session, but yeah, it is a mental slog if not a physical one.
As the rain is due to continue tomorrow, I’m guessing it’s another indoor session. And I can’t keep putting it off, so it will probably be that much promised SST session unless something else catches my eye.
