Chop Chop

Well, it rained today. That put paid to my planned outdoor ride, but perhaps that wasn’t such a bad thing as when I did get on Zwift my legs felt absolutely dead. Fortunately I saw sense and took on an easy ride – just forty minutes of activity in zone 2 with a build up and cool down in zone 1 for the remaining twenty.

I ummed and ahhed about what to do today for so long before setting off mainly because I was wanting to test out the Google Pixel Buds I got when I bought my latest in a long line of as-yet-unbroken phones a good few months back. I’ve kept them buds in their box all this time, but today I figured what the heck, why not give them a shot?

However, I couldn’t get a good signal out of them.

When connected to my phone they seem fine. But connected to the desktop computer they constantly drop out to the point where they are practically useless. Annoyingly I spent about 30 minutes trying to make them work but the best I got was a really choppy sound if I stayed absolutely still. Bizarre.

Anyway, even when they do work they are very tinny, quite uncomfortable and generally underwhelming. Glad I didn’t pay outright for them. However I’m 100% sure I did pay for them in the overly large price of the phone handset.

Beyond that though, very little to report today. Felt tired, but got through it. Wife’s come down with covid so I’m thinking my constant headaches and pill popping are very much related. It’s only very mild though, and so I’m hoping it doesn’t interfere with tomorrow’s riding.
