The Lazy 100

One hundred kilometres. My weekly cycling goal. And also considerably easier to do indoors than out. But whatever, today I passed 100km for the week.

All the rides this week have been low stress. That’s low training stress, and low thought on my part, too. All have been FTP Builder endurance rides. Block after block of 6, 8, or 9 minutes (as best I recall) at 150-170w, or ~2.4-2.5w/kg.

The big question is: does my right calve feel any better for it?

Well, it’s hard to say how it would have been feeling if I’d managed to do outdoor rides instead. The bad weather this week put paid to that.

It’s definitely not fully recovered yet though.

After my ride this afternoon, I was stood at the PC (standing desk), and when I turned to walk away, I suddenly felt like I had a massive amount of cramp right in the spot it’s been persistently niggling. So in short, no it’s not fully recovered. Who the hell knows when it will be.

As the weather looks continually crap even tomorrow, I’m guessing my next ride will be yet another low and slow Zwift effort. The lazy rides will continue until my muscle pain improves.
