Picking an SST session for today’s ride meant I absolutely needed to fit that in over lunch or I knew I wouldn’t be in the mood later in the evening. All good though, I managed to get the time today, even though it meant cutting my 2pm meeting exceptionally fine.
I’ve had to shake things up a bit with my setup. The technical woes continue for me this week with my main PC constantly cutting out on me for, seemingly, no apparent reason. This has been happening with increased frequency over the last few months, getting to the point where it’s now happening >10 times a day. Nightmare.
Narrowing this latest technical issue down to my graphics card (most likely), I left two monitors plugged in and set off on my ride. Normally I’d ride on my main monitor, but today I was angled quite unusually. No big deal.
Except, ten minutes in (give or take), my PC cut out again. This had no issue on Zwift. I use a second PC for Zwifting, but I share the monitors. Swapping and changing all the time could be part of the problem. Up until recently the issues did seem to occur after swapping between inputs.
Anyway, this meant stopping my ride, getting off and pressing the PSU switch to “off”. I’ve seen cases where the machine reboots many times in quick succession and I fear I’m going to blow the machine up if that happens and I’m not around. Sucks. As such I had to make sure I got off and stopped and potential problems, even though it meant pausing my ride.
Now, the rest of the ride went fine. I still have fairly sore legs, but that’s good, right? It means it was a good workout.
It looks as though the Zwift Halloween update went live today. Because I was doing a structured workout I couldn’t see the results, but if you’re looking for a reason to get on your turbo, maybe that could be the one. The big question for this year: is it Dinos again? I’ll find out at the weekend, no doubt.
